Most posts die in the first second because the caption says nothing. A good caption is a hook, a story, and an ask — in that order.
1. The contrarian take. Start with an opinion most people disagree with. Example: 'Posting daily is overrated.' Then explain why.
2. The pattern interrupt. 'I deleted 90% of my content last week. Here's why my engagement went up.'
3. The mini-story. Three short sentences. A problem. A turn. A resolution.
4. The list tease. 'Three things I'd do differently if I started today.' Then deliver them in the comments.
5. The direct question. End with one specific question, not 'thoughts?'.
6. The unfinished thought. Leave the last line open so people finish it in the comments.
7. The receipts. Show a screenshot or number that makes the claim believable.
